(Disclaimer: This is a silly and whacky adventure of digital whimsy. If you’re not a fan of goofiness, you may want to visit another time.)
All kinds of stuff just makes life get crazy for everyone & tea parties get postponed. *sad face*
But I think a lovely & mad tea party is just the thing…so I was SO EXCITED to know that Sarah decided to host one!
I’m just super duper excited, as are the Kork Knees, who have been so beside themselves with glee about this that I’ve had a hard time keeping the scamps quiet day to day.
But it’s been hard. We are fast approaching portal season…they’re really, really overdue for adventures, and I must say, so am I!
Hey wait a second, what’s that noise I’m hearing??
*Goes to look*
Well goodness…I mention it’s time to have a tea party…and…
The Kork Knees did some kork magic and POOF! Tea party ready to go!
Ok, ok guys. That does look wonderful, and I’m ready to party, too.
But hang on. We can’t tea party yet.
We have to open a portal first, right???
“But we only do those for Halloween parties,” Katie Kork pipes up, looking slightly confused.
I laugh merrily. “This has been a crazy year, so let’s make it a crazy tea party!”
The Korks are WILDLY happy about this & start bouncing all over the room!
So, let’s grab a magic key…a random key, just for fun…
Kyle Kork gasps. “Wait a second, that’s not a LOCKE HOUSE key, is it???”
I pause & think about that for a second…oh, Locke House…from the Netflix show Locke & Key...no, Kyle Kork. I don’t have any keys like THAT. Those get dangerous. We only have keys to the fun portals…remember futterwacken?
All the Kork Knees laugh and clap their (invisible) hands. “Hooray!”
Ok so now that we know we’re not going to visit anyone’s head or flit about as ghosts, let’s hunt up a portal! Let me pause & wait for the tilt of a cat’s head to show me the way…
Ok, got it! It’s just over there, about a foot from the corner of the room, see the faint outline of a door? You need to squint to see it…maybe angle your head away & glance at it sideways…but it’s there.
I insert the key, turn it, and we see…a rabbit hole heading off into the darkness! And a white rabbit platform waiting for us.
Ok gang, ready? Let’s go! Here, everyone climb onto the white rabbit…hold on tight…this will be kind of like the cart at Gringott’s in Diagon Alley…
And away we go! Zooooooooooming along…
And a sudden, instant stop!
Wow, ok, this place looks just like our regular room…the tea things are even still there…
Ooooh wait, I see new things…let’s go investig—
*bounce* *clink* *rattle*
Oh. You’re already all “investigating.” Hahaha.
Hey everyone, leave the lady alone…she’s just giving us some nice music for the tea party…don’t disturb her…unless one of you can play?
Thought so. Ok, let’s head back to the tea table.
So what do we have here??
Ooooh someone wrote a book about mad tea parties! How fun!
“Wonderland?”…oh, I wonder if that’s the name of a portal world…we’ll need to look for that one eventually…
Oooooh look…another key…to a SECRET garden…oh yes, we MUST find THAT portal…that one looks like a wonderful time!
So I keep ushering the Korks back to the tea things…and when we arrive, some tea is ready and yummy nibbles.
The Korks start goofing off and saying random magic words, one of their favorite games:
“GOK GOK BU-SHOOOM!”
They all fall over laughing, about to dig into the food & tea, when suddenly…
A huge puff of smoke and then…
Oh dear. What might the wizard do?? The Korks wait with baited breath…
…and Callie Kork whispers, “Bazinga!”
Well dang it, Callie, look what you did…you exchanged one wizard for another…and this one has…a wand…and a magic egg…oh dear.
He’s waving his wand!
Hahaha look at that, a fantastic beast! Wait…I think those kind steal shiny things…
The wizard waves his wand again, and…POOF!
Wizard and beastie gone.
Hmmmm. This is making me hungry.
Ok Korks, you guys should dig in too…we should all keep our strength up in case…
Dang it, Callie!
Now look what you did! You bazinga’d up an ALIEN!!!
“Aaaaaaaaiiiiieeeee!!!!” All the Korks squeal and start to run to hide….
The alien seems unconcerned…it seems more interested in all the nibbles…and the tea…
Hahaha!! Look at him get into the tea cup!!!
The Korks aren’t staying to watch…
…they keep running, all the way back to the white rabbit platform….
Well, shoot. Ok, ok, we can go…
I get onto the platform with them this time.
“Callie, that’s what you get for saying random magic words like that!”
I look at her, and I think she’s hiding and shivering and crying.
“Oh Callie, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you or make you cry…”
When she suddenly pops up, laughing hysterically, clapping her (invisible) hands and bopping up and down. “Ooooh my gosh that was SO much fun!! An alien!! An alien! And it liked tea, too! Wheee!”
I sit there confused for a bit…ok…? “Well I’m glad you’re ok, and…”
Oh dear, not again…
Whew. Thankfully, we’re back home. The magic words don’t work outside of portals.
The Korks disembark & chatter & laugh all the way back to their hideaway in the house. I know I’ll be hearing about this one for awhile…and that our next adventure will be just all kinds of crazy as all of them start experimenting with all the magic words they can make up.
Well, it keeps things interesting!
I find that I’m quite tired from the whole adventure! Time for a nap.
This has been the MOST amazing fun, and we need to do it more often! Good thing it’s approaching full portal season…many more chances to have more silly fun…I’m going to think up a few.
Happy tea partying!
